Amateur Radio Contest

What is an Amateur Radio Contest?

Amateur Radio Contesting is a competition where individual operators or teams seek to contact as many other amateur radio stations as possible over a given period of time. Each contact is allocated a number of points and each contest has a set of rules that dictate the conditions. At the end of the contest each station submits their log of contacts from which the contest organisers calculate the final scores and places. Each contact is usually short in duration, following a standard format. This is a great way for people new to Amateur Radio to become comfortable operating on the air.
